Environmental Responsibility
Environmental responsibility is one of the key elements of the company’s sustainable development plan. Environmental protection (EP) is governed by the Environmental Policy, which reflects the Company’s commitment to the principles of sustainable development. The document outlines the company’s primary responsibilities, which include minimizing negative environmental impact (NEI), pursuing resource conservation policies, preserving biodiversity and the climate by all reasonable means, making up for potential environmental harm, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards and requirements set forth by Republic of Kazakhstan legislation and international legal acts in the field of environmental protection.
Because of its beneficial environmental impacts, natural gas plays a vital role in the low-carbon development of Kazakhstan’s economy and in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement. The corporation’s top aims include cutting down on air pollution, creating and discarding less waste from production and consumption, improving energy efficiency, and safeguarding our natural resources. The Company recognizes that maintaining environmental balance is a critical responsibility while implementing investment ideas.
Environmental Protection
It is understood that the planned activities of individuals and legal entities include the building and continuous operation of production facilities and other facilities with other types of environmental interference, such as through subsurface use operations, as well as the introduction of significant changes in such activities. As per the guidelines of Standartmunai LLP’s environmental management system, the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the precautionary principle (Principle 15 of the Rio Declaration on Environmental Protection and Development of the United Nations, 2009),
Everyone who is interested is able to access EIA projects, and we welcome and record ideas and comments. All of Standartmunai LLP’s EIA projects are subject to state environmental experts and are accessible to the interested public on their official websites as well as those of local authorities throughout the project. Every project undergoes an environmental impact assessment (EIA) during the planning phase in order to determine the project’s effects on the environment and other areas. Public associations, research organizations, administrative, state, and regulatory entities, the local populace, and the media participate in public hearings held during the design phase of every project.
